Willand Rovers 12 Crediton 0 (HT 4-0)

Jones, Vittles 2, Bastin 2, Rawlings, S 2, Bickle , Antat 2 (1 pen), Tillett, Kingdom

Under lights on a surprisingly cold night, Willand were grateful for the opposition but brushed aside Crediton United who will surely enjoy more fortune next season when most of their team will be at the older end of the age group. It does matter.

Before kick-off, the players and officials from both teams perfectly observed a minutes silence in memory of Crediton boy, Sam Crocker, who died recently in an accident.

Young referee Warren Mitchell got the game under way with the White Ravens attacking the Traffic-Lights End. A chance fell to Reece Kingdom within the 2st 2 minutes, 3 yards out but he somehow skied his shot. New ball please!

The first goal came after 6 minutes and Tarji Jones bundled the ball over the line after good work down the left by Jake Tillett.

On the other flank, Nathan Antat was inspired and was very unlucky not to have scored when a blistering shot cannoned off the keeper. His trickery often got hi to the goal-line but the final shot was all too frequently wasted.

Then JJ Vittles was dragged down by the ‘keeper and Antat stepped up to beat the keeper. 2-0.

Chance after chance went begging until Sam Rawlings grabbed the 3rd when he calmly lobbed the keeper from 10 yards.

The second half began with Sam Rawlings scoring his second while Jones, Bickle and Kingdomw got their names on the team sheet. bastin thumped home a drive from 20 yards too.

Credit to the visitors for maintaining a threat on the break but cpatian ash Matthews, Alex Wright, Jordan Major and Jack Rawlings would not be beaten tonight.
